Send it flying. Keep the string.
Email you stay in control of after you hit send. Unsend unread messages, fix typos for a full day, set messages to expire and take back attachments. Free, no ads, made in Valencia.
How long can I unsend a message?
Up to 30 minutes on Diamond and up to 2 hours on Delta and Festival, as long as the message hasn’t been opened. You pick your default string when you sign up (10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours, within your plan) and can change it in Settings whenever you like.
Does unsend still work when I email someone on Gmail or Outlook?
Yes. People on other providers get a normal email with a short preview and a secure link to the full message. Because the message itself stays with us, you can still reel it in, fix it or let it expire. The only part we can’t pull back is the preview line they may already have seen.
Can someone screenshot a message before it expires?
Yes, and we won’t pretend otherwise. Expiry removes the message from their inbox and erases it from our servers, but a screenshot, a printout or a copy made before then is out of anyone’s reach. Treat expiry as good housekeeping, not a vault: for something truly sensitive, send it on a short string with a short expiry.
Will people know I edited a message?
Yes, on purpose. Edited messages carry a small “edited” note, so nobody is misled about what was agreed. Recipients see the latest version, and the original stays in your Sent folder in case you need it.
Is an expired message really gone?
It disappears from the recipient’s inbox the moment it expires and is erased from our servers and backups within 30 days. We keep only a record that a message existed (who sent it, to whom and when) so delivery logs still add up. Never its contents.
Can I bring my old email, and keep my old address?
Yes. Import from Gmail, Outlook or iCloud in a few clicks: mail, contacts and labels come across in the background, usually in under an hour. Then switch on forwarding at your old provider and everything sent to your old address lands in Cometamail too.
Diamond is free. So what’s the catch?
There isn’t one, and there are no ads either. Diamond is paid for by the people on Delta and Festival. You get one address, 10 GB, a 30-minute string, a full day to fix typos and tracker blocking, free for as long as you use it.
Where is my mail kept, and who can read it?
In our own data centres in Valencia and Lisbon, encrypted at rest and in transit, and it never leaves the EU. Your mail is never scanned for advertising, because there isn’t any, and it’s never sold or shared with data brokers.
